The Right Partner for Keeping University Renovations on Track
Omega has extensive experience working with universities and colleges to safely update campus structures. One example includes our work helping Occidental College remove asbestos and lead from a historic building undergoing renovation. Over a period of about four months, Omega effectively and safely managed the assessment and remediation, saving Occidental $900,000 in the process.
The project was such a success that the L.A.-based college partnered with Omega to renovate Johnson Hall, as well as some of their older dormitories.

Getting Rid of Hazardous Materials While Minimizing Health Risks
Most buildings built before 1980 have materials containing asbestos, lead and other hazardous materials and require an experienced environmental partner to ensure that renovation or demolition proceeds safely and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
As a full-service environmental management and hazardous materials consulting firm, Omega’s staff has more than 25 years of experience. Omega’s diverse team provides both the technical support and deep expertise needed for safely removing asbestos in the university setting, including assessment, project design, remediation and oversight of renovation processes to reduce the risk of exposure as well as to ensure full compliance with state and federal environmental regulations. Working with campus EHS departments, our expert toxicologists have participated in town hall meetings to educate and update university staff and students about ongoing remediation activities.
