Microbiological & Chemical Decontamination Consulting
Omega’s expertise is the result of working on hundreds of microbiological and chemical contaminated sites. The Omega staff is made up of experts in the area of site assessment and the determination of appropriate responses based on the nature and degree of the particular contamination problem you are addressing.
The initial steps for a potential contaminated site include the following:
- Site assessments
- Health risk assessments
- Feasibility assessments
- Laboratory data analysis and interpretations
- Design of cost effective solutions
These initial steps will provide a series of effective solutions to insure that the following is provided.
- Emergency Response as needed
- Options for Decontamination and Cleaning
- Assure Regulatory Compliance
- Preventative Programs and Training.
Omega is a leader in the assessment and deployment of innovative techniques and the advanced technologies required to decontaminate surfaces, rooms, air systems, equipment, machinery and products.
The first step in Omega’s decontamination assessment is to make an initial estimate of the likely scope of work required to contain and eliminate the contamination threat. This step usually involves site sampling, laboratory analysis and if required, a more extensive risk assessment to establish acceptable safety standards consistent with the contamination scenario. In some cases there may be regulatory benchmarks, although this is not always the case as often no benchmarks exist. Omega has established cost effective protocols and sampling techniques designed to ensure site integrity, quality control and a remediation plan consistent with the problem.
The second step is to determine the strategy and tactical plan of action required to successfully address the decontamination problem.
This step will address the following:
- Choice of decontamination method
- Choice of technology to be employed
- Choice of post decontamination evaluation methods
The third component of any decontamination effort is to ensure that the analysis and decontamination response plan is executed by a highly trained work force. Omega collaborates with a nation wide service staff of trained and experienced decontamination technicians. Ongoing oversight ensures that these field technicians secure the site and complete the scope of work in a cost effective manner and within the requisite regulatory guidelines.
For many of our projects we are asked to design and sometimes carry out preventative efforts that reduce bacteria, chemical or viral loads to acceptable levels to prevent adverse effects on human health.
